Pelassa is a small vineyard located in Montà d’Alba. The Pelassa family has always produced wine, but the winery officially started in 1950.
Mario Pelassa, at ten years old, decided he was old enough to help his family. He took his bike and a few bottles of Nebbiolo and rode to Turin (43km away) to sell his family wine.
The winery is now managed by his sons Daniele and Davide.
From this humble beginning, the winery has progressed to an internationally honorable company, receiving awards from the most demanding wine critics (95 points from Robert Parker).
